Gain the knowledge to make changes and feel fantastic

Hipprocrates’ observation about diet is still relevant 2,000 years later, we are what we eat, the raw materials from which our bodies and constructed are provided by the food we eat.

Everyone is different and needs to intake energy from food considering a number of factors including; lifestyle, job, hobbies, age.

My services cover working with you 1-2-1, with a family and group focusing on Nutrition and Weight Management, solving new or recurring problems and you’re not feeling healthy and happy on the inside and on the outside.

You may have health related problems:

  • Recovering from an illness and want to make sure that you have a balanced diet
  • Pre-Type 2 diabetic and want to reverse this
  • Over-weight or obese
  • Putting pressure on your joints causing pain and at risk of injury
  • Underweight following an illness or exercising and not taking on sufficient energy/food

You may be fed up:

  • Tried lots of “diets”, attended other classes and end back at square one or even worse
  • Spending money of diet foods and plans
  • Menopausal and the symptoms are changing your diet habits and not helping
  • Attending an event and want to feel and look amazing in the photos
  • Drop a dress size or for your clothes to feel comfortable again

Let’s consider the word “Diet” it’s not about restriction and denial which is the common misconception.  The Oxford dictionary definition: “the kinds of food and drink that a person habitually eats”

We are all different knowing not only on one-day but continually adjusting the energy intake you require.  What you eat energy intake versus energy expenditure, the energy your burn off through daily living, physical activity and exercise, this balance changes and is not a one fits all approach.

Your journey with me follows a success model that has worked for others:

Identify / Initiate / Integrate / Inspire / Ignite

I will identify your needs, goals and dreams, so that I can work with you so that you improve your overall health, wellbeing and happiness.

You’ll become confident, knowledgeable and able to make good choices and be happy to make these choices because they become your new diet “what you habitually now eat and drink”.

Your friends and family asking you what your new secret is? and you’ll be able to share your new-found knowledge and confidence with them, so they too can look and feel as awesome as you do.

Nutritional Balance

Nutritional Balance

A nutritional balance is consuming sufficient nutrients for your body’s needs, balancing your energy intake versus energy expenditure the energy your burn off. An energy imbalance will lead to weight gain or weight loss. Having sufficient fluids for your body’s needs is also essential. You may be limiting your intake of energy from food with the best intention, but this is actually counter-productive for a number of reasons.

Knowledge to Empower

Knowledge to Empower

You need the knowledge to create confidence so that you can make changes. You need to know what is meant by a “balanced diet”, the amount of energy you need to intake for your body to function, understand what a sustainable calorie deficit is versus losing weight as quickly as you can and how this is not sustainable, and the small changes you can make to create massive life changes, you will then be in control.

Knowledge to Improve

Knowledge to Improve

You need lots of questions answering and myths busted to help yourself. What are good and bad; carbohydrates, protein and fats. One person tells me to eat fruit and another not to, as there is too much sugar in fruit. What exactly are vitamins and minerals. How does digestion play a part in nutrient absorption and what happens if my diet isn’t balanced, how will I know? All questions you will gain knowledge of.

Diet and Health Conditions

Diet and Health Conditions

It is true we really are what we eat and eating the correct foods and fluids really can help common health conditions, understanding the role of your diet and lifestyle to help manage and prevent; High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, Osteoporosis, Dental issues, Diabetes, Coeliac Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Food allergy and intolerances. I will not diagnose nor am I able to treat medical conditions, I can refer you to specialist I work with to do this.

Goals and Dreams

Goals and Dreams

Goals need to be set, developed, monitored, implemented, measured and revised on a regular basis, this isn’t as complicated as it sounds, and neither is this dull, it is fun, exciting and fulfilling, your goals and dreams will be set as realistic short, medium and longer term goal’s that are challenging, motivational and achievable. It’s important to know that once in a while you may not meet a goal on a set date, being flexible is good too.

I would just like to say a massive thank you for helping me on my journey to a better understanding of foods & which ones are good for me & which ones are better in general for you & your gut health.

I would personally highly recommend Sarah-Jane for her advice & knowledge of gut heath & for her one-to-one skills with giving the advice, so it didn’t feel like I was being made to go on a diet or a telling off or a lecture just recommendations to head you in the right direction.

The older you get the more important it seems to be to eat more correctly & also eat what’s right for you & your body’s needs. Sara will help you down this road with.

So, if you looking to improve your food or diet or your just your well-being in general, I can’t say enough to recommend Sarah-Jane

Sarah Jane is totally all about supporting you to make those small changes to daily choices that over time lead to a big difference to the way you eat, what you eat and the way you understand nutrition. Sarah-Jane educates you as you go through the nutrition programme so you can learn to do it on your own. She is full of encouragement and completely non-judgemental (even when I said I regularly had two chocolate biscuits and a coffee for breakfast).

Everything is personalised to you so it's your plan and fits your lifestyle not someone else's' and it’s easy to follow because it’s tailored to you.

She's on hand for advice or support when you have wobbles and is always full of enthusiasm and smiles.

I really enjoyed working with her and I'd highly recommend Sarah-Jane for her knowledge and approach to her nutrition and weight management programmes.

I spoke to Sarah-Jane about the nutrition work she is doing and was intrigued about what Macros, Micros where, as a nurse thought I knew a bit about nutrition …. how wrong was I?!

When I first enquired, I was worried about the money side and was reluctant to prioritise this money on myself however after some thought and even more weight yoyoing I just thought “why not!”.

I knew for me to be a positive role model for my near teenage daughters and adult son my health and well-being was important, and this conclusion had taken me many years to realise.

I had been wary due to home being a building site however I was still able to make the changes needed and since starting this journey, I have stopped hiccupping and coughing in the mornings, I am sleeping much better, my blood pressure is now within normal limits, and I have lost 2 inches from around my middle.

I would recommend a chat if nothing more, Sarah-Jane is the most passionate, motivational, and knowledgeable woman I have met for a while and I plan to continue working with her whilst making the changes I and now subsequently my family have made.

Thank you, Sarah-Jane.

I am absolutely thrilled with the nutritional coaching I have had from Sarah Jane. Not only have I now lost one and a half stone in weight but I now have the knowledge and understanding about food to help me
maintain and continue to improve my health and eating habits moving forward.

The information I received from our 1-2-1 coaching sessions has been invaluable. Sarah-Jane's attention to detail, the processes she uses, her motivational skills and encouragement inspire you to succeed! Not only am I now 2 dress sizes smaller but I have more energy and don't suffer from the fatigue I had before. I would highly recommend Sarah-Jane's nutrition coaching services to anyone.

I am so pleased I have found Sarah-Jane to have her looking after my health.

I have had a problem with food for years, including allergies, and my eating habits had got very samey, and not eating a great deal in general, so I needed to get a good eating plan, and introduce vitamins and minerals that were currently non-existent, into my body. I was feeling sick, dizzy and tired. I was eating snacks and one meal a day. I also had joint and general pain issues, some of the food I was eating exacerbated these problems, but having identified these, I was able to make that change.

I now feel healthier, more awake, less dizzy and able to exercise for longer. I will now always have this information but will keep meeting just to keep on the right track. I would highly recommend Sarah-Jane to anyone, she is easy to speak to, knows her stuff and has changed my life, I wish I had found her years ago.
